基本表現と解説
- "He's one of the best fellows ever born." / "Yes, that he is!" 「彼は最高の男の一人だ」「ええ、そうです！」
- "God is in heaven — can he see when I am doing wrong?" / "Yes, that he can." 「神さまは天にいらっしゃる。悪いことをしたらわかるのかな？」「そりゃ、わかるさ」
目的語又は補語の that を主語の前に置く例。この場合、二番目の例のように助動詞があるときは、動詞を略することが多い。
