164. hang me if

基本表現と解説

• Hang me if you can do it.
• I'm hanged if you can do it.
• I'll be hanged if you can do it.

いずれも「お前にできるならおれの首をやる」つまり「おまえにはとてもできない」という意味。hang / hanged の代わりに damn / damned も使われる。また Hang me if you cannot do it. となれば、「おまえにできなければおれの首をやる」つまり「おまえには必ずできる」の意味になる。
