166. 頓絶法の if 節 (2)
- If I haven't lost my watch! 「時計をなくした！」
- If I ever heard the like of it! 「そんなことは聞いたこともない」
前項では「願望」を示す例を提示したが、「驚愕」「憤怒」「嫌悪」などを示す場合もある。最初の例でいえば Hang me, if I haven't lost my watch! の Hang me を省略した形と考えればよい。
