基本表現と解説

• Strange to say, many great men are superstitious. 「不思議にも偉人には迷信家が多い」

strange to say とか wonderful to relate のような「形容詞 + to 不定詞」の形は従属節の省略されたものと考える。上例の場合は Although it is strange to say so, many great men are superstitious. と解する。
