解説
four, six の次には horses を、pair の次には of horses を省略せり。
  A coach and pair
    = A coach drawn by a pair of horses
   二頭立の馬車
  A coach and four
    = a coach drawn by four horses
   四頭立の馬車
  A coach and six
    = A coach drawn by six horses
   六頭立の馬車

比較
Gin and (= diluted with) water = 水を割つたヂン酒。
Brandy and (= diluted with) water = 水を割つたブランデー。
