31. as...as...permit / allow / let

基本表現と解説

• He advanced as rapidly as his great age would permit. 「彼はその老齢が許すかぎり足早に進んで行った」

「ある故障があって充分に……できないけれども、その故障が許すかぎり……する」という意味。
