95. this day week

基本表現と解説

• He left Yokohama for Europe this day week. 「彼は前週の今日、ヨーロッパへ向け横浜を発った」
• He will leave Yokohama for Europe this day week. 「彼は来週の今日、ヨーロッパへ向け横浜を発つ」

this day week あるいは that day week は「前週の同日」ないし「来週の同日」を意味する。どちらの意味に取るべきかは文脈から判断する。

例文1

　"Weren't you a little shaky by Southend Pier one day, and wanted to be thrown overboard?"
　"Southend Pier!" he replied, with a puzzled expression.
　"Yes; going down to Yarmouth, last Friday three weeks."
