216. still less / still more

基本表現と解説

• No one has a right to deprive others of their liberties, still less their lives. 「誰にも他人の自由を奪う権利などない。ましてその生命を奪う権利はなおさらない」
• Every one has a right to enjoy his liberties, still more his life. 「誰にでも自由を享受する権利がある。ましてやその生命を享受する権利は当然ある」

still less, still more のほかに much less, much more の形も使われる。
