解説
As......as（と同じく）は二つのものを比較し、其性質程度等の同一なるを示すものなり。即ち上掲の文は Complex Sentence にして Conjunction の as は
(a) Ethan Allen was (as) honest
(b) he was brave
の二つの Clause を接續して honest（正直）なると brave（勇敢）なるとの同程度なるを示すものなり。初の as は Adverb なり。
