基本表現と解説

• There is something queer about him. 「彼は奇妙な雰囲気を漂わせている」
• There is something queer in her letter. 「彼女の手紙にはおかしなところがある」

前項と同様、性質・雰囲気・趣があることを示す表現。

By the side of Hyde Park stands Kinsington Gardens. This place has something of the solemn grandeur of a wood about it — something uncultivated that delights the eye.
