33. as if / as though (2)

基本表現と解説

• He looks as if confident of his success. 「彼は成功を信じているように見える」

as if / as though のあと主語と動詞が省略されることがある。

例文1

An officer, as if by chance, left the paper on a table by which the suspected spy was sitting, and went out for a few moments.
