- Say "Yes" or "No" as the case may be. 「その場に合わせてイエスとかノーとかいいなさい」
イエスという場合もノーという場合も等しくある。どちらのケースになるかは状況次第、という含みである。考えられる選択肢が三つ以上ある場合は、whatever the case may be という表現も使われる。
