- He knelt at the queen's feet. 「彼は女王の足下に拝跪した」
この foot は「権力」をあらわす。ほかにも fall at one's feet 「足下に伏する」、fling (throw) oneself at one's feet 「足下に身を投ずる・拝跪哀願する」、sigh at one's feet 「足下に嘆息する」などの表現もある。
