基本表現と解説

• He studied in order that the question might be solved. 「問題を解くために研究した」

例文は He studied so that the question might be solved. と言い換えられる。なお、that...may not とか so that...may not とか in order that...may not といったように否定を伴う場合は lest...may / should の形とおなじ意味になる。（§216 および §217 を参照）
