(a) 私は必要が有るかも知れぬと思つて地圖を持つて行つた。
(b) 私は道に迷はぬやうに地圖を持つて行つた。
解説
In case は或る場合に備ふる意なり、次の解のいづれかに従ふ可し。
(a) Suppsing that
と思つて。
場合を慮つって。
(b) Fearing that
For fear that
Lest...should
That...(may) not
といけないから。
と困るから。
を恐れて。
せぬやうに。
用例
1. Take care in case you take cold.
風を引くといけないから氣を付けよ。
2. They took a whole carriage yesterday, and made a bed for her on the seat, in case she felt tired.

彼等は昨日馬車全體を使用した。而て疲れないやうに彼女の爲に坐席の上に寝床を造つてやつた。

a-going going と同じにて dying の意。 he should の次に go (=die) を補ひ見よ。
